WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW OVER HOLIDAY BREAK
Hope you enjoyed the two extra days off this week! Here is what you should be working on between now and when we get back in January.
1) COMPLETE YOUR SUPREME COURT DECISION ESSAY ON TURNITIN.COM!
Decide the case you were a JUSTICE for. Use the document I handed out in class on Tuesday - if you didn't get it it's in the Files section (titled "How to write your Final Supreme Court Decision"). This is due Monday Dec. 19th at 11:59pm. Remember that this does NOT time out like a Current Event - you can submit it late to Turnitin, but it will start accruing a late penalty after the 19th.
2) BE READY FOR THE CH. 5 & 15 UNIT TEST!
This was the test we were going to take Thursday 12-15, but it is now postponed to either Wed. Jan. 4 or Thursday Jan. 5 (need to check for special schedules when we get back). If you need the study guide for this test look in the Files section below (titled "GOVT ch5&15 Study Sheet").
3) WANT SOME EXTRA CREDIT? WATCH "MR. SMITH GOES TO WASHINGTON"!
We will be studying Chapters 11 and 12 when we return in January, and there will be some Extra Credit questions available on the movie "Mr. Smith Goes to Washignton" (MSGTW). The holidays would be a great time to sit down and take advantage of this EC opportunity - as well as enjoy a great classic movie! The link to the movie is https://archive.org/details/MrSmithGoesToWashington1939480x360 . EC Questions will include questions about plot, characters and themes in the movie as related to Congress.
4) WANT TO GET AHEAD? WORK ON THE 11-12-MSGTW PACKET!
You will have some time (as homework, probably not too much in class) to work on this packet. But if you want to get ahead on things you can start working on this packet. If you weren't able to pick one up in class before the Snowpocalypse, you can download a copy from the Files section (Titled "Ch11.12.MSGTWpacketrev11-2014")
